Jennifer Reid, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist, educator, and author of Guilt Free: Reclaiming Your Life From Unreasonable Expectations (Penguin Life). She’s also the creator and host of A Mind of Her Own on Substack, an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania and an associate professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She attended medical school at Columbia University and completed her psychiatry residency at UCLA.
Jennifer grew up in rural North Dakota, in a family of physicians, nurses, teachers and librarians, and she choose to honor that legacy through education, whether it’s with her podcast interviews with amazing people working to make us healthier and happier, her writing, both serious and humorous, or teaching the next generation of psychiatrists.
She is a married mother of two boys, trying to raise them to be compassionate, productive, and thoughtful members of society.
