Meet Linda Wattier, the Perennial helping women embrace wholehearted living
Hi, I’m Linda. Even though I still identify as a MidstHer, now that I’m 64, I also enjoy being a Perennial, part of a group of people defined by how they work, learn, and live instead of when they were born. We are ever-blooming, curious people of all ages who know what’s happening in the world, stay current with technology, and have friends of all ages.
I live next door to the Jocassee Gorges Wilderness Area in the northwest corner of South Carolina. I adore wilderness hiking, nature photography, and dark chocolate. Also, my love of books and reading is legendary.
As a bold wellbeing coach and founder of How She Thrives, I help women over 40 embrace wholehearted living for a more authentic, creative, and fulfilling experience of midlife and beyond.
I’m in the midst of:
- Unretirement, where I’m reinventing myself yet again and rejecting the outdated learn-earn-retire model of life.
- Writing and building a community of thoughtful, growth-minded women for How She Thrives. It’s a free weekly newsletter on how to keep growing brave, strong, and free in the second half of life, with handpicked advice on thriving from the inside out.
The best thing about being 64
My body finally settled down after the rocky road to menopause, and I feel more physically, emotionally, and spiritually strong than ever. Plus, I’m the most authentic version of myself I’ve ever been.
My Grown-Ass Lady heroes
I’m always looking for GAL heroes to learn from. Here are my top 10 female role models in no particular order: Brené Brown, Maria Shriver, Oprah Winfrey, Martha Beck, Elizabeth Lesser, Elizabeth Gilbert, Isabel Allende, Susan Cain, Michelle Obama, and Pema Chödrön.
What’s next?
I intend to keep growing myself and my personal enterprise while exploring and photographing North America’s beautiful wilderness areas. I’d love to experience living and working from my own custom-built, off-grid camper van someday—my idea of thriving.
Stay connected to your true self and zest for life by joining us at How She Thrives.
