Meet Jessica Tinney, who transitioned from employee to owner of Menopod
I began my journey with Menopod in 2018, initially working in customer service. Over the years, my role evolved into Brand Manager, and in January 2024, I took ownership of the company as the original founders approached retirement. Although I’m only 35 and just entering midlife, I recognize the immense value in supporting women’s health and wellness.
With a background as a certified esthetician, transitioning to Menopod was a natural fit for my passion for personal wellness. Menopod has allowed me to connect with women sharing their menopausal and perimenopausal experiences, enriching my understanding of what to expect in my journey and fostering open discussions to break generational taboos.
In 2022, after having my son and experiencing postpartum night sweats, my professional and personal connection to Menopod deepened. This solidified my commitment to driving the brand’s mission of wellness and convenience.
I am in the midst of:
I’m dedicated to growing Menopod to its fullest potential, offering symptomatic relief for hot flashes, night sweats, migraines, headaches, and anxiety. Over 70% of women in perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause face relentless challenges like hot flashes and night sweats, often finding existing solutions inadequate. Our mission is to provide innovative solutions, empowering women to manage their symptoms and live their lives fully.
I’m also raising my curious and free-spirited son, ensuring he grows up in an environment where open communication, health and wellness (both physical and mental), and meaningful connections are paramount.
The best thing about my current age (35):
At 35, I value the opportunity to educate myself about the changes that come with midlife. Through my work with Menopod, I confidently approach my journey and foster open conversations with friends and family of all ages, celebrating natural changes. Understanding that self-care is not selfish has been a significant revelation.
The best things I’ve done for myself in midlife:
- Embracing the inevitability of change while ensuring wellness remains a constant in my life, both mentally and physically.
- Trusting the process as I transitioned from employee to owner, giving myself space to learn and grow in unexpected ways.
- Letting go of concerns about others’ opinions of me.
- Creating a space for open discussions about women’s health, breaking through generational barriers.
My midlife must-haves:
- Good company: My family and close friends
- Good sleep: With my dachshund being cozy
- Good food: I’m always looking for the best recipes
- Good vibes: Whether it’s a favourite movie/TV show, singing loudly in the car or much needed yoga

My Grown-Ass Lady heroes
My Mom, mother-in-law and all of the grandmothers in my life have been incredible sources of support and wisdom. I have learned so much from them; without their guidance, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
When I consider what I most want from a community of women in midlife, it’s a space where we can learn and grow together, share our experiences, and uplift one another. As we succeed, we bring each other along with us.
What’s next:
My goal is to expand Menopod to its full potential by increasing community engagement and awareness. I’m exploring ways to diversify our product line to provide relief through various applications. Additionally, we are committed to sustainability and are continually seeking ways to reduce our carbon footprint at all levels of the brand, from manufacturing to fulfillment.
