5 Random Facts About Amy Cuevas Schroeder
1. My design style is messy minimalist
Aka stuffinista meets aspiring minimalist. I’m a sucker for bargain hunting, flea marketing, and curbside diving for midcentury modern gems, but I also drool over clean lines, white space, and zen gardens.
2. My twins’ heritage stems from seven nations
Cuba, Puerto Rico, China, Scotland, England, Ireland, and Germany. In other words, they are truly American. Isabel has a rare syndrome called Pitt Hopkins, and once we launch the Jumble & Flow Shop, we will donate a portion of sale proceeds to the Pitt Hopkins Foundation.
3. I’m a modern parent
Meaning, I’m raising my kids equally with my husband, while we both work full time and while I hustle Jumble & Flow on the side. We’ve naturally split up chores like “cooking” and laundry, and Martin is as feminist as I am.
4. I’m a late and early bloomer
In life, I’ve tended to arrive either early or late to my own party. For example, I started a magazine called Venus Zine at age 19—taking an early leap into entrepreneurship. But I put off getting married until 35 and having kids at 38—what many folks consider to be kinda late.
5. I’m experiencing a load of a-ha! moments after reading ‘The 4-Hour Workweek’
I heard about Tim Ferris’ 4-Hour WorkWeek soon after its release but just now got around to reading it. Like many others who’ve read it, I’m feeling a mixture of excitement over the possibilities mixed with a realization that much of my current job and previous jobs has revolved around work that is considered outsource-able.
